Structural strength test and buffing impact tests on a coil transport wagon

The Structural strength test on the body shell of a coil transport wagon was carried out in our test hall. The buffing impact tests took place on a completely equipped wagon of this type at our external test location at Halle-Ammendorf.

Both in the static tests and in the buffing impact tests, we especially were challenged by the organisation of the loading.

On behalf of simulating the ballast and the load effect during the tests as real as possible, 5 coils, each weighing approx. 15 t, were procured in cooperation with the customer. These coils then were positioned exactly on the test specimens in our test hall or on the test track for the buffing impact test.

This shows that the test institute of the IFF Engineering & Consulting GmbH is able to react flexibly to customer requests or special features of the respective tests, also with regard to loading demands.

For this purpose, a wide range of capabilities is available also for handling of unusual elements for load application.
