GURTF - Calculation of belt conveyors

GURTF - Calculation of belt conveyors according to DIN 22101

GURTF is a software solution for dimensioning and calculation of belt conveyors for bulk solids according to DIN 22101.

The program supports the calculation of belt conveyors according to two independent procedures.

  • Fast calculation: Fast calculation of the drive power, low number of required input data
  • Detailed calculation: complete and exact calculation of belt conveyors of any length and lines with several drive drums and several feeding points
  • In addition, the sub-program "Curve" enables the calculation of belt conveyors with horizontal curves

GURTF calculates the following parameters:

  • Delivery volume and mass flow rate
  • Main resistance, gradient resistance and special resistances (including camber resistances)
  • Required drive power
  • Required braking torque
  • Required belt pretensioning
  • The radii of the concave transition bends
  • The belt tension for each point of the conveyor line for the various operating and loading conditions
  • Braking and starting times
  • The required belt strength and the required belt drum diameter for drive, return and deflection drums
  • Belt strains in transition curves and in vertical curves
  • Idler speeds and idler loads
  • The deflection of the belt in the horizontal curves in all operating and loading conditions (through targeted simulation an optimization of the geometric data in the curve sections is possible)

The results are available in German and English as standard. Additional language versions can be integrated on request via additional dictionaries.

BL 4.1 Buckling safety of stiffened rectangular plates

BL 4.1 Buckling safety of stiffened rectangular plates

With our BL 4.1 software, buckling proofs of orthogonally stiffened rectangular plates can be prepared under widely arbitrarily boundary conditions and loads.

Our program determines the buckling mode and loading factors by using the FEM method. The buckling proof is based on DIN 18800 part 3 and DASt guideline 012. The parameters are put in by a Windows interface, which is easy to operate.

The calculatiion can include any boundary conditions and loads, such as:

  • The plate to be examined may have rectangular recesses or holes and have leaps in the thickness of the sheet
  • Point loads and linearly variable line loads, as loads in the plane of the plate, are permitted at any point
  • The boundary conditions are widely arbitrarily, so there may be e.g. free edges, restraints and point-wise supports
  • Arrangement of arbitrary stiffeners.

ST 4.0 Rope drum

ST 4.0 Rope drum

Our software ST 4.0 is used for dimensioning and providing proof of single and multiple layer spooled rope drums.

Basis for dimensioning and the proofs is the calculation standard for cranes DIN 15018. As a result of the realistic calculation method, the results are reliable and very accurate, which enables good utilization of material.

The following types can be calculated:

  • grooved or ungrooved
  • cast or welded
  • with or without intermediate disks
  • with or without trunnion mounting
  • stepped discs
  • different flanges on a drum
  • various spooling variants spooled in one or more layers

GT 4.0 Belt drum

GT 4.0 Belt drum

Our software GT 4.0 can be used for dimensioning and to provide the static proof of belt drums, whereby different types of the belt drums for the calculation can be taken as basis.

  • The program determines the stresses in the end disk and the drum shell. The calculation results can be displayed graphically.
  • The drum shell is calculated according to the bending theory of the circular cylindrical shell.
  • The determination of the stress in the end disk takes into account the plate bending by belt forces, the forces from the slip-on gear box and forces parallel to the drum axis.

GT 4.0 is only available for IFF-internal use.

Protrie 2.0 - Dimensioning of driving gears in hoists and mechanical winches

  • Main and auxiliary hoist
  • Trolley and crane travelling gear
  • Slewing gear
  • Derricking gear

The project engineering essentially follows the standards DIN 15020, DIN 15070, DIN 15434, DIN 15451 as well as the FEM rules FEM 1.001 and the calculation principles according to DIN EN 13001.

Based on a given drive concept and some basic assumptions about the rope drive, the calculation of the essential values is been done for the selection of components, such as required design variables for the motor, brake, gearbox, clutches and cable drive or toothed rack.

Protrie 2.0 is only available for IFF-internal use.
